Can't blog any more

Can’t do this... Yes, I can, No – I can’t.

Been the 4th day of blogging and this is how it’s gone for me:

Day 1 – Yippeee! What a genius idea to blog every day for a month!

Day 2- Ummm.... Can I skip today?

Day 3 – Now, what do I blog about that I haven’t already?

Day 4 – Yikes! 27 days left...

I’ve been a great starter, but a middling continuer, and a lousy ender. I’ve got a real problem ending anything that I start. Yoga – started twice and stopped half-way! Diets – started every 1st of January, and ended by 2nd of January. New Year’s resolutions of course, aren’t meant, as everyone knows to be resolved – so forget those! Karate – started in school, French – started in college, cartooning – started in post-grad, keeping accounts – started on my first job. None have continued – not one lousy good habit.

Aha – that’s probably it! The lousy habits have no trouble at all continuing. Like two cups of coffee when I wake up... like reading in bed in flickering lamp light.... like never doing today what I can do tomorrow...

Now the real question is whether I’m this loser kind of person who lacks any shred of will power or purpose in life? Do I deserve a lecture on Wills and Ways etc.? Is someone going to dig out a childhood  syndrome for ‘always giving up’ or ‘getting things easy’? Or am I just a normal egg-head who takes on more than I can chew? Would love to hear if there are any of you out there who are the same.... not egg-heads, but you know what  I mean.

  2. hahaha Jane, honestly I could have written this post, probably not as brilliantly though :). You are so right on how easy it is to continue the lousy habits, take me with trying to drink enough water now.. 2-3 days GREAT.. 4th day slow slide begins.. until end of 5th day - did I drink just 1 glass all day?!!!

  8. Ha ha ha (imagine the superficial-on-stage-villain kind of laughter please) I shall trump you all in starting-lots-of-stuff-but-not-finishing-most-of-them :D From the drinking more water every day to doing just 15 counts of abs every day to New Year resolutions I just suck at all of them! :( Surprisingly I haven't hit that mark in the this blogathon yet. The moment might not be far off!

  11. Egg head is my second name...been there done that & still going strong! I think that's what makes life interesting! Guess how boring life it would be if everything in life went according to the clock, precision style (even the Swiss consider themselves boring)! But I have to say, we Indians are the masters of 'Jugaad' by hook or by crook, we get there in the end! So keep at it Jandy - you have two lovely "Stegasaurouses" to prove that you can do it!

    2. P.S. They are tyrannosauruses, not stegos, make no mistake! tee hee. what's k? a gentle brachiosaurus?

      Delete
    3. There's nothing gentle about K, so no brachiosaurus for her. She prefers a ankylosaurus or a tyrannosaurus! But at the moment she's pretending to be a mammoth :)
